Most Successful Recovery Rates for Schizophrenia

Below is a short trailer of a documentary on the approach to psychosis in the far north of Finland. A method called Open Dialogue has been developed by a group of family therapists that achieves the highest rates of drug free recovery (for first break psychosis) in the world, 83%.
What is most remarkable is that they keep patients out of hospital and off medication to the extent that they can. A fundamental part of the approach is the involvement of family, and the therapists work with the group on a daily basis if needed. This may only be possible in Finland where the service can be provided free, but the results demonstrate that there must be a better approach to what is currently the norm in the rest of the western world.
New York, psychologist and film maker Daniel Mackler went looking for answers with respect to Open Dialogue and produced a film under the same name. You can buy it here and the trailer is below.
